S.N. Nuclearelectrica S.A. („SNN”) announces that it has been included in the indexes of FTSE Russell indexes global provider in the context of the Romania’s capital market transition from Frontier Market status to Secondary Emerging Market status starting with  September 21, 2020.

As result of SNN’s inclusion in FTSE Russell emerging market indexes, the company’s shares will be included in the following global provider indexes: FTSE Global All-Cap, FTSE Global Total-Cap, FTSE Global Small Cap, FTSE Emerging Index and FTSE Emerging All Cap Index.

“SNN’s inclusion in FTSE Russell indexes represents by far SNN’s most advantageous positioning on the capital market,  a desideratum of the company to capitalize and attract new investors, to capitalize on its results and evolution on the capital market in recent years, known being the fact that the inclusion in the emerging market indexes is eloquent for a total market value of the companies much higher than the one related to the frontier market. The inclusion in FTSE Russell emerging market indexes comes after a one-year evaluation process and capitalizes on the importance given by SNN investors. SNN team’s efforts are rewarded today and the company will continue its development strategy. Certainly, this historic moment we are part of directly, will provide new growing opportunities, new attracted funds and it must function as a strong motivating factor for other issuers as well.  BVB (Bucharest Stock Exchange) efforts must be sustained as the value of a capital market is given by the value of its issuers” – Cosmin Ghita, SNN CEO.

Nuclear energy represents in relation to new European and global energy policies an essential part of the decarbonisation energy mix. SNN’s main investment projects, refurbishment of Unit 1, extension of the current nuclear power capacity, Tritium Removal Facility, production of Cobalt 60 are strategically developed to bring sustained long-term growth to the company.

‘SNN and nuclear energy will be a long-term national strategic presence, supplying a part of the production in compliance with the environmental conditions and at the level of capital market, providing a profitable investment. The strong presence on the capital market, the responsibility for development are net growth advantages of SNN and its investors” – Cosmin Ghita, SNN CEO.
